Bobbin Bicycles Terms & Conditions

Our bikes are couriered in boxes and require some assembly. We recommend you ask your local bike shop to assemble and check the bike before riding, and carry out a service within one month.

IMPORTANT: Receiving Your Mail Ordered Goods

Please sign for your goods as 'UNCHECKED'. Failure to do so will invalidate any claims for transit damage.

We cannot make insurance claims for transit damage more than 24 hours after receipt. If you find your goods damaged, please call us immediately and email photographs of the packaging and contents. Damage claims will be dealt with on a case by case basis and we will do our very best to rectify any problems as quickly as possible. For minor damage, replacement parts will be sent before a product swap. If damage is substantial, and you have followed the procedure above, we will arrange for goods to be collected and replaced (subject to availability) or refunded.

Delivery charge includes one failed delivery. For more than one failed delivery, customers will be charged again. If you refuse delivery for any reason other than damage, a charge of £50 (bike) or 20% of order total (accessories) will be made for the initial packaging, staff time and delivery costs. This amount will be deducted from any refund that you receive.

Returns Policy
In accordance with the Sale of Goods Act 1979, consumers are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair where goods are faulty or not as described.
For goods bought in person: if you’ve changed your mind, we’re sorry, there is no automatic right to return unwanted goods.

Mail Order Purchases: In accordance with distance selling regulations, you have a 7 day 'cooling off period' in which you have the right to cancel your purchase. Goods must be returned in an unused, saleable condition, in original packaging, within 7 days of placing the order. In this instance, the customer is responsible for the safe return of goods and for all the delivery charges involved within the transaction. Goods must be returned by Royal Mail recorded delivery or by courier and we must be notified by email prior to return.
Please note that special-ordered goods and modified goods (for example, bikes fitted to order with special light brackets/childseats/baskets) are an exception to this law.

Once the cooling off period has expired, unwanted goods may be returned within 7 days of receiving them, subject to a 20% restocking charge.

HELMETS: WE ARE LEGALLY UNABLE TO EXCHANGE OR REFUND HELMETS

Warranties
Manufacturer’s warranties differ for each product. Should any original component prove defective in terms of material deficiency or workmanship within the warranty period, we will either replace or repair it free of charge. All claims must be submitted to us in writing within the warranty period. Bobbin Bicycles’ liability covers parts only, but does not cover labour charges from other cycle dealers, transportation charges or consequential loss. It is therefore the responsibility of the purchaser to return the cycle or component to us for assessment, replacement, or repair. This guarantee does not cover the effects of normal wear and tear, or damage caused by accident, abuse or neglect. It does not cover off-road cycling. We strongly recommend before riding your cycle or using your accessories that you read and understand fully any relevant information supplied.

Mail Order Delivery Costs
Please contact us for delivery charges to UK offshore address, Northern Ireland and Eire.
We are happy to prepare goods for shipment outside the UK (customers to arrange transportation, customs clearance etc).

Couriered bikes are boxed and require a small amount of assembly. This differs from product to product, but usually includes inserting and tightening handlebars and seatpost, and attaching pedals. Please note that customers are responsible for following assembly instructions and checking their bike before riding. We strongly recommend a local bike shop carry out the assembly, and also complete a service within one month of riding.

Delivery Times
We aim to get your goods to you as soon as possible. However, please note the following:
Your order for goods is subject to availability. Delivery forms no part of our contract to supply goods within a specified time frame. We endeavour to deliver goods within 10 days of receiving the order, however, we will not be responsible for compensating you for any other losses you may suffer if we do not supply goods within this time frame. We regret we cannot give specific dates or times for delivery.

Cycle to Work Purchases
Please contact us for more information about Cycle the Work schemes. We are a partner store of the broker Cyclescheme Ltd. We can also supply bikes directly to employers.

If you buy through Cyclescheme, please note there is a delay between choosing your bike and it being paid for, therefore due to lack of storage space we are unable to hold goods for customers. Please notify us when you’ve received your collection voucher, and we will let you know when your order will be available to collect.
